Whereforart.com is the online portfolio of artist Ali Ebden.
Ali grew up in a small village called Biddestone in the Wiltshire countryside. After getting her Diploma in Art at Trowbridge Art College she moved to Lincoln. Now she is once again concentrating on her painting, and working from her studio in Manchester alongside husband (and web designer) Ian.
Painting is what I have always enjoyed, and I am very enthusiastic. I have always worked in acrylic, which is a flexible medium - fast-drying; can be diluted with water to become water resistant when dry. Depending on how much the acrylic is diluted, the finished painting can resemble a watercolour (for softness of colour) or oil painting (for bold colour). I love strong colours and bold forms so that my paintings capture your eye as soon as you walk into the room.
